Know Us
Welcome to Zambian ARTS Publishing House! We are more than just a publishing company – we’re a community, a platform, and a movement dedicated to elevating Zambian and African voices through the power of writing. Founded by Jimmy Kayika, a passionate educator, author, and Mandela Washington Fellow, Zambian ARTS Publishing House is here to help African writers share their works with the world.
Our Mission
At Zambian ARTS Publishing House, we believe in the unique power of African writing to inspire change and spark connection. Our mission is simple: we want to make publishing accessible, empowering writers to express themselves authentically and professionally. Through self-publishing packages, marketing support, and a digital store, we’re here to help every book find its way to readers who need it.
The Journey So Far
Since we began, we’ve proudly published over 10,000 books, connecting readers with powerful works across genres and borders. We’ve distributed over 20,000 copies throughout Zambia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and even the UK. Along the way, Jimmy and our team have been mentored by international leaders, shaping our vision and guiding us in expanding African voices on the global stage.
What We Offer
Zambian ARTS Publishing House provides comprehensive self-publishing solutions for authors, offering services such as book printing, professional editing, and formatting. We assist with basic marketing to help authors reach their target audiences and empower writers with affordable publishing packages, as well as opportunities to share their written works through audiobooks on platforms like Spotify, ensuring they reach a wider audience. Our website offers direct access to books, and we’re set up for both local and international transactions with options for ZMW and USD. Whether it’s PDF or EPUB, your book is ready to be read by audiences everywhere.
Our Social Impact – Read To The World Campaign
Through our Read To The World Community Program, we’re taking our commitment even further by creating opportunities for Zambian writers whose work addresses critical issues like anti-corruption, climate change, good governance, and democracy. Through this program, we sponsor writers to have their works published at no cost, helping amplify important voices that can spark meaningful change.
We also work directly with orphanages, schools, and community partners to distribute books where they’re needed most, encouraging literacy and creativity in young readers. Our partnerships extend across sectors – from companies to the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Arts, as well as local governments. Together, we organize events that promote local talent in writing and publishing, including initiatives like The COPPA Book Awards. We’re excited to continue building partnerships, including potential collaborations with USAID, to elevate the voices of African writers and bring attention to causes that matter.
Our Community Impact
Beyond publishing, we’re actively involved in community projects to make books and learning more accessible. We’re working with other African leaders to install libraries, distribute books, and inspire a culture of reading in schools and communities across Zambia. It’s all part of our goal to build a brighter future for literature and learning in Africa.
Our Vision for the Future
We dream of a literary community where African writing is celebrated and shared across the world. We want to be a bridge between writers and readers, creating a platform where African voices and perspectives can truly shine. We’re excited to be part of this movement and to help shape a new era for African literature.
