Jimmy Kayika, A 2024 Mandela Washington Fellowship Candidate

Jimmy Kayika, the esteemed founder and CEO of Zambian ARTS Publications and co-founder of The COPPA Book Awards, has been honoured with selection by the US Department of State for the Mandela Washington Fellowship program. As a participant in this prestigious initiative, Jimmy Kayika joins a cohort of African young leaders bound for the USA to engage in extensive studies across diverse leadership programs. His selection stands as evidence of his exemplary leadership and commitment to advancing his community. It is a nation’s heartfelt congratulations to Jimmy Kayika as he represents Zambia among the select few for this transformative program.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship is a program of the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by IREX.  IREX is a U.S. non-governmental organization that implements the Fellowship in partnership with the U.S. Department of State.

Jimmy Kayika has collaborated with numerous writers, guiding them through the process of getting their projects officially published while also instructing them on how to sustainably monetize their craft. His mission is to empower African writers with a blend of artistic and entrepreneurial expertise, enabling their works to thrive not only in local markets but also on the global stage. He seeks to acquire the necessary knowledge to further this goal through the YALI program.
